Summer travel is here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re ready to get out of the house and hit the open road.
But this past year has been a little bit different for me.
I’ve been dealing with some ongoing health issues, and things like long drives, sitting for extended periods, and being out of my normal routine haven’t always been easy. Travel has taken a bit more intention than it used to.
Still, I’ve realized that not feeling 100% doesn’t mean I have to stop doing the things I love. It just means I need to be more mindful about comfort and take better care of myself along the way.
These are a few things I’ve been using—or intentionally looking for—that have helped make travel feel more manageable again.
Whether you’re driving, flying, or taking a train or bus, I hope these help you feel a little more comfortable on your next trip too.

Neck Travel Pillow

Long drives and flights can start to feel uncomfortable pretty quickly, especially if you’re dealing with stiffness or tension. A supportive neck pillow like this can help keep your neck in a more natural position and reduce that strain.
I like that this one uses memory foam for support without feeling too rigid, it’s lightweight enough to toss in a bag without taking up much space. It’s also very reasonably priced (around $16 right now), which makes it an easy add for travel comfort.

Wedge Seat Cushion

If sitting for long periods starts to wear on your body, something like this seat cushion can make a noticeable difference. It adds a bit of height and helps take pressure off your lower back and hips, which is especially helpful on longer drives.
This is one of those small adjustments that can make a trip feel a lot more manageable. It’s currently around $24 on sale.

Lumbar Support Cushion

Good lower back support can really change how you feel after a long drive. Cushions like this are designed to support the natural curve of your spine and help reduce tension while you’re sitting.
I also like that this can double as support for an office chair if you spend a lot of time sitting during the day. It’s a simple, practical option at around $23.

Travel Blanket

This is one of those items you don’t always think about until you need it. A travel blanket like this can make a big difference when you’re trying to stay comfortable on a long trip.
I like that this one can be used a few different ways—as a blanket, pillow, or wrap—and still packs down easily. It’s lightweight, versatile, and around $29.95.

STANLEY Reusable Water Bottle

I love my larger water bottle at home, but for travel, something more compact and leak-resistant just makes life easier.
This one has a flip-down straw, which helps prevent spills, and it keeps drinks cold for hours. It’s easy to carry, fits in most cupholders, and is a solid option at around $35 for staying hydrated on the go.

YETI Insulated Coffee Tumbler

If you’re a coffee drinker, having a reliable travel tumbler is a must. This one is a great size for the road and keeps your drink warm long enough to actually enjoy it.
It fits easily in a cupholder and is super durable. The only thing to note is that the lid isn’t fully leak-proof, so it’s best kept upright. It’s around $32.

Travel might look a little different for me right now, but finding small ways to stay comfortable has made a big difference.
If you’re in a similar season, I hope this reminds you that you don’t have to give up what you love—sometimes you just need to approach it a little differently.
Wishing you safe and comfortable travels ❤️
