17 Days of Summer ~ Day 7 She Speaks!

Or in my case SHE WRITES!!!

What an amazing experience I have had already and today was only the pre-conference! If you are just now finding me here…I am attending She Speaks 2015 Conference for speakers and writers hosted by Proverbs 31 Ministries. I have sacrificed a bit in other areas of my life recently in order to make it to this conference and so far it has been more than worth it!

I feel like a kid at Christmas here! I am in the presence of 800+ women who are all on the same mission as I am…to spread the love of God to others. We all have different platforms but there is ONE purpose, to be His servant.

My suite here at the conference is larger than my apartment back home (no exaggeration!) and I am not going to want to leave! I have been sleeping on an air mattress since the end of February and my back has been thanking me the last couple of days. Doing without something that you are used to (such as a bed) makes you APPRECIATE EVERYTHING so much more. I thought about a time my ex husband and I took his kids to St. Louis and we stayed at a very nice hotel. I didn’t think much about it…I had stayed at plenty of 5 star hotels before. But my oldest stepson was bouncing off the walls with excitement. I didn’t understand it and I WISHED at that time I could feel the joy he was feeling in that moment. I understand now.

As I am typing this…my eyes are watering…not with sad tears but joyful ones. I am so unbelievably blessed! I weeped earlier as I read from the book of Ephesians. I will be listening to MANY inspiring women speak tomorrow and I have a publisher appointment in the afternoon. I have a Big day ahead of me…I will be taking kleenexes!

I have three friends back home who are all checking on my cats and they have each sent me pictures of them already and I haven’t even been away for 48 hours yet! They are getting so much attention right now they will want me to go on vacation more often! Ha! I miss them and I will be glad to see them but I know they are in good hands.

I still have a lot to do and learn before I return home. And I will be sharing more as I go.

Thank you all for being a part of my journey.
