Lent Day 4

Note to self:

“None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.” ~ Nanea Hoffman

I love that quote. It is a bit of a wake up call and a reminder of how precious and short life really is. We are here for a limited time. Yet we get bogged down in extremely petty things every day and forget what is important. We forget to LIVE. We are busy going from one thing to the next. Worrying about who else is doing what. Craving more and more instead of being content with what we already have. Meanwhile God is standing there with a red flag waving it at us telling us to slow down. But we are moving too fast to even see him. Ignoring Gods desires for our lives is disrespectful to him.

I am in a transition period right now and I don’t think things could get much S-L-O-W-E-R. And I am grateful for this time because it is helping me truly listen. Keeping his commandments means slowing down enough to be aware of what he wants you to do.

John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

I attended a funeral today. An angel here on earth went to be with Jesus a couple of days ago. She was 99 years old when she passed. She was truly ALIVE and AWARE during her time here on earth. I think when you are aware, you naturally learn how to truly live.

There’s no time for anything else…

Blessings,
