Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
“I don’t know what to do!”
If I had a nickel for every time I have said that over the last two years…well, I would probably have about $20. 😉
Waiting is just plain hard, especially for an impatient person like myself. I want answers and I want the right NOW! I said my prayers and clicked my little red shoes…”so where is my answer God?”
Silence.
I have grown more spiritually during the last two years of waiting than I had grown in the 41 previous years combined. I used to make impulse decisions based on my mood or a feeling without much thought at all. Sometimes GIGANTIC decisions that ended up being costly. Now I question everything. I listen to my gut. I ask God what to do and I wait for His answers. The waiting is a test of strength and endurance. It is God’s way of asking if I truly trust Him to follow through on His promises. When I do not trust, I usually make the wrong decision.
God trusts us. He trusts us so much that He makes us wait. Faith grows during these transitional waiting periods. It can feel excruciatingly painful while you are in it, but it is actually a blessing to have to wait for an answer from God. I am still down in the valley…sitting and waiting. But the amazing thing I’ve realized is that when I start to come back up I will appreciate the ride so much more.
When you do not know what to do…trust and be still. God’s timing is ever so perfect.
God we thank You for Your perfect timing. We will wait on You for Your answers instead of selfishly expecting and demanding answers right now. You know what is best for us and we trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Blessings,
