Day 8 ~ THINK GOD

Do you remember the George Burns “Oh God” movies? My favorite of the series was “Oh God Book II” where God (George Burns) appeared in human form to a young girl named Tracy and asked her to spread His word to her friends. God wanted to use her as a means to promote his message among children, which would carry through to the adults who had lost faith.

Tracy came up with the slogan “THINK GOD” and began to spread it around town as she was asked. After being sent to a psychiatrist because her parents thought she was going crazy for claiming to see and talk to God, the slogan caught on and her parents, friends and the entire city began to “THINK GOD.”

Yesterday I wrote about friendship and how friends are blessings in our lives. There have been periods in my life however when I was so very lost and felt completely alone with nobody to turn to. I felt like I didn’t have a single friend in the world. I still find myself feeling that way sometimes. Friends and family get busy with their own lives and I feel forgotten. Daily stresses bring me down and with nowhere to turn, depression sets in and I begin to lose faith. I feel so alone.

Sometimes God does become distant in our lives. This happens a lot of the time when we feel we need Him most. “Where are You??? Why are You allowing me to go through this alone?” Distance is meant to be a test of our faith in Him. The more faithful we remain when we do not feel His presence the stronger we become and the deeper our worship.

When you are struggling or feel lost or alone…remember to THINK GOD! By remaining constant in your faith in Him and what He has done for you through Jesus you are never alone.

Hebrews 13:5 “For God said ‘I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.’ ” Amen!

Blessings,
