If you guys hadn’t noticed I typically write my messages here the night before they are published. Today (Sunday) was a day of firsts. It’s the first day of a new week. It’s the first day of Spring. It’s the first day I’ve been roller skating in YEARS. And it’s also Palm Sunday…the first day of Holy Week.
I invited some friends to go roller skating today because I wanted to do something fun and different for my birthday. I turn 44 on 3/24 and I’ll be spending my actual birthday with my dad!
It’s not been a perfect year but it has been a year of tremendous growth. I KNOW I’m right where I’m supposed to be. Living for God 100% changes everything. There’s still bad days and yucky things and I fail and fumble. But giving everything over to Him has made things so much easier.
My word for this year is FREE and that I am. When God is your best friend…He makes sure you have everything you need. If you aren’t with me on this…please try and at least consider asking Him for help. We are NOT meant to do life on our own.
As I was skating today the song Springsteen was playing and I was overcome with an amazing sense of freedom. I remember going to the skating rink with my friends when I was a preteen…it brought back so many wonderful memories of the days when worry wasn’t an issue at all.
Today, Palm Sunday, commemorates Jesus’ journey into Jerusalem. He knew what was going to happen to Him. And He willingly gave His life for us. God loves us that much. We are FREE because of His love for us. Time to accept that and appreciate it.
